Employment Program

Our location within an extensive public transportation system makes us an excellent location for job seekers. Gainful
employment is an important part of an independent lifestyle; therefore Employment is an important part of the Residential Program,
offering progressively more challenging opportunities as the resident progresses.
Like all Chapel Haven programs, the Employment Program can be tailored to meet the specific needs of the individual.
Additionally, various Employment Program Plans are available for individuals in the area who are not graduates of Chapel Haven's
Residential Program. Employment Programs include:
Supported Employment
Supported Employment entails work as part of a small group with ongoing support including
job-coaching and transportation. Depending on the individual's needs, Supported
Employment may be a permanent situation or may serve as a transition to Competitive Employment.
Competitive Employment
When individuals are ready for Competitive Employment, Chapel Haven is always on hand,
offering on-the-job supports.
Clients receive assistance with a comprehensive job orientation, a physical orientation to
the job site, an introduction to the duties of the job, and help forging relationships with
supervisors and coworkers. Clients also receive assistance with accessing transportation, and monitoring
and critiquing performance.
