ADMISSIONS

Admissions Process

The REACH Program (Residential Education At Chapel Haven)

All prospective students are given careful consideration by the Admissions Department.

We welcome students from all over the United States as well as Canada, the Far East and Europe. The REACH Program serves a maximum of 30 young men and women, 18 years of age and older.

Chapel Haven's REACH Program serves men and women, 18 years of age and older. The admissions process is designed to give the applicant and family a comprehensive view of Chapel Haven's programs. The Vice President of Admissions begins the process by reviewing intake materials such as recent psychological / neuropsychological and adaptive evaluations, IEP's and vocational assessments. Next, the prospective applicant and interested parties are invited for a tour of our facilities and an interview.

All prospective residential students participate in a six-day evaluation and skills assessment. During this week, the prospective student follows a typical Chapel Haven schedule.

The visit is intended to be a mutually beneficial process; the prospective student has the opportunity to assess Chapel Haven and Chapel Haven can determine if we can best meet the needs of the prospective student. In this way, the 6-day evaluation period is an essential part of indentifying the prospective students' strengths, challenges, and base-line skill levels.

Our clients are:

  • 18+, with cognitive disabilities / autism spectrum disorders
  • High school graduates or still completing high school credits through IEP's
  • Emotionally and behaviorally stable
  • Motivated to eventually transition into independent, productive lives, make friends, acquire social competency and adaptive skills and work toward individual  goals.
