The Chapel Haven Family Association presents the award-winning documentary, “Swim Team” at Chapel Haven on Saturday, April 1, 2017.
Please join us for lunch in the Chapel Haven Cafe at noon. The film will be shown in our Outreach Center at 1 p.m., with a Q&A session to follow.
This award-winning new documentary is an inspiring look at the rise of a competitive swim team of autistic teens and will be screened in celebration of World Autism Awareness Day.
Following three teammates on the cusp of adulthood, when government services become scarce, Swim Team is a portrait of diverse American families grappling with the problem of “aging out.” Over the course of a year, the film explores the overwhelming struggles they face and the triumphs they achieve as they strive for independence, inclusion and a life that feels winning.
This event is free and open to the Chapel Haven community (students, community members, Chapel Haven families) and the general public. Click here to RSVP: RSVP for Swim Team
