Chapel Haven is delighted to welcome our new Café Operations Manager and Culinary Instructor, Joanne Heller, and our new Supervisor of Recreation, EmilyAnne Westman.
Joanne brings more than 20 years of experience in the restaurant and food service industry to her new post at Chapel Haven. In addition to her culinary education and experience, she also studied for four months in Italy as part of her professional training. She is a graduate of both Lincoln Culinary Institute and ICIF – The Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners. She also holds a degree in business from the University of Connecticut. Joanne has been a chef and culinary instructor for the past 6 years. Already, the Chapel Haven Café is offering a more varied and healthy menu with more from scratch and house made items to come. Even more exciting, Joanne will be implementing a culinary training and instruction program at Chapel Haven in the very near future.
Chapel Haven is also excited to announce EmilyAnne Westman is our new Supervisor of Recreation. Emily is no stranger to Chapel Haven. She worked at Chapel Haven from 2007-2014 as a recreation aide and as the local coordinator for Special Olympics and Best Buddies. Emily graduated from Southern Connecticut State University in 2011 with a Bachelor’s in Psychology. Most recently, she was a social worker in foster care at a non-profit agency.
“I am very excited to be back and working at Chapel Haven. I plan to bring new energy and creativity to the Recreation, Special Olympics and Best Buddies programs,” Emily said,
