The Chapel Haven Schleifer Center participated in #givingtuesday and raised a record amount of $22,034 in just 24 hours.
Giving Tuesday, now in its seventh year, is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Giving Tuesday is observed on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Giving Tuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.
Chapel Haven invited people to donate through our Facebook, our Twitter account, by posting their own personal fundraisers on Facebook or by donating through our website. Donors were invited to contribute to our new Health and Wellness program. Photos and videos of Chapel Haven adult “teams” were posted throughout the day, doing jumping jacks, deep squats and push-ups; drinking water rather than soda; making the bed; and even keeping track of budgeting items. The campaign revolved around the Seven Pillars of Wellness as set by our advisors – Art Still and Greg Justice.
Between social media our website and matching funds from the Gardner family, were are proud to announce that Chapel Haven raised a total of $22,03, a record amount since Chapel Haven began participating.
Thank you to all our wonderful donors. We were thrilled and humbled by the outpouring of support. Read more below about the Seven Pillars of Health and Wellness:
