The Chapel Haven Center for Employment and Service Opportunities (CESO) has a lot of exciting updates.
First, CESO is now fully staffed, according to Executive Director Danielle Chiaraluce.
“We are excited to have such a terrific team on board,” Danielle said. “With these new hires, we are well positioned to provide our adults with a full array of employment services and opportunities. We are excited about the progress we have made to date.”
Welcome and congrats to these appointments:
Career Transition Specialist, Kaitlyn Salisbury helps in all aspects of career exploration, work-based learning and placement services.
Kaitlyn also provides job coaching and training. Kaitlyn is a graduate of Southern CT State University and has prior experience as an ABA therapist. She is committed and passionate about helping individuals overcome challenges and find success in their daily lives.
Business and Community Relations Specialist (Job Developer), Shawn Morris – Shawn is completing a BA in Psychology at Southern CT State University. He has experience working in the disabilities field working at Marrakech as a behavioral health employment specialist and was a New Haven Promise Scholar. He is excited to be on board.
Career Development Advisor, Sarah Elsdon, who will start full time in April. Sarah has a Sixth Year Professional Diploma in School Psychology and a Master of Science Degree in School Psychology from Southern Connecticut State University. She is currently a school psychologist and has “a personal passion for working with and advocating for people with disabilities. My first job in the field of human services was working for Chapel Haven in the recreation department. I loved building relationships with the clients, providing them with new experiences, and watching them grow socially. Chapel Haven helped shape me into the professional I am today.”
Kimberly Freeman, Employment and Training Supervisor – Kim has been with Chapel Haven since 2013 and has taught and developed curriculum in vocational settings and the REACH program. In her current role as Employment and Training Supervisor, Kim works on the development of and oversees Work-Based Learning programs and Internship placements for the CESO, provides vocational supports to CESO clients, and delivers employer trainings. Kim holds a Master of Science in Autism Spectrum Disorders and Other Developmental Disabilities from Southern Connecticut State University and maintains her CT state special education teaching certification.
Karin Frodel, Director of Vocational Services – Karin has over 25 years of experience working with children and adults with autism spectrum disorders and intellectual disabilities, beginning as a special education paraprofessional when a teenager. She has been with Chapel Haven since 2005, initially as the Community Life Program (CLP) Coordinator and moving into supervisory and director positions within the ASAT, Chapel Haven West and Community Programs. Karin is currently the Director of Vocational Services within the Center for Employment Services and Opportunities (CESO) overseeing vocational programs including supported employment and volunteer program, the CH Cafe and UArts. She has a BS Degree in Therapeutic Recreation and recently went back to school studying for an MBA degree.
CESO announces first Employer Recognition Award
On April 3, CESO will provide a special award to Whelen Engineering and CEO, George Whelen V.
“Mr. Whelen and his company have done so much in a short time to create a home within their organization for our PAVE participants, by creating meaningful work and training opportunities,” said Danielle. “This is an honor that we hope to bestow on a dedicated employer each year going forward. We are excited for Whelen Engineering Inc. to be our first.”
