The Schleifer Adult Independent Living (SAIL) campus is the newest part of our campus expansion and will be completed this December.

This four-story, state-of-the-art facility will comprise 46,000 square feet. Upper floors will include one and two-bedroom apartments with centrally-located communal kitchens, a fireplace, gathering spaces and terraces. The building has a total of 42 apartments designed with a kitchen, bathroom, living room and bedrooms. The first floor of the new building will have a fitness center, a wellness cafe, engagement space, administrative offices and professional space for medical appointments.

The new building is universal in design and layout, and is intentionally, intergenerational, so adults of all ages can flourish into their senior years in a vibrant and non-institutional setting.

SLAM Construction Services reports that the SAIL building has made great progress this summer. Currently the mechanical , electrical and plumbing systems are being roughed at press time, spray foam insulation in the exterior walls is complete, drywall installation on several floors has begun and interior doors will be arriving by month’s end. The finishes on the second floor are being completed. The 3rd floor finishes are beginning, the 4th floor has been sheetrocked and the first floor has just begun sheetrock.

The mechanical units have been craned onto the roof, the elevator is functional and permanent power to the site is active.

On the exterior of the SAIL building, the stonework is complete, the windows have all been installed and the exterior siding and window trim are complete. The outdoor courtyard spaces and parking lot areas have taken shape as well.
