The Chapel Haven Family Association is delighted to present a free Saturday workshop exploring how special needs families can access important government benefits.

Join us Friday, March 13, 2020, from 10 a.m. to noon at Chapel Haven Schleifer Center Inc. for “Government Benefits and How They Can Help Special Needs Families” with noted presenter Michael Beloff. Benefits to be discussed in clear, concise language will include how to qualify for, and the differences between, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Medicaid, Social Security Disability Income (SSDI) and Medicare. Mr. Beloff will also talk about the ABLE Act and how families may take advantage of this federal legislation.

Following the workshop and Q&A, join us for an optional tour of our expanded campus.

The workshop will be led by Michael Beloff, CFP®, a Chartered Special Needs Consultant (ChSNC®) and the parent of a son with autism. Michael is a noted speaker on the topic of special needs planning at both national and local venues including the National Autism Association, the Connecticut Down Syndrome Congress, the Autism Society of America, the US Autism and Asperger Association and COPAA. He will discuss in clear, concise language how to qualify for, and the differences between, Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Medicaid, Social Security Disability Income (SSDI) and Medicare. He also will discuss how the ABLE legislation is being made accessible to families, including in CT.
