Did you know that your vote counts?

In a pivotal election year, and in the middle of the pandemic, Chapel Haven Schleifer Center believes more strongly than ever that voter registration and education is vital for all.

We have three opportunities coming up to help both our own community and the public come up to speed on how to participate in this year’s national elections.

The Sunshine Cart
On Tuesday, Oct. 20 and Thursday, Oct. 22, from 9:30-11:30 a.m., Chapel Haven courtyard: Chapel Haven’s Sunshine Cart invites you to learn about your right to vote. Students enrolled in our PAVE program, supported by staff, will give away vote buttons to wear, talk about the importance of voting, offer support for registration if anyone needs it, distribute info about absentee ballots and polling locations.

Register to Vote: A Workshop with Chapel Haven Schleifer Center and Independence Northwest
On Weds, Oct. 21 at 4 p.m., Chapel Haven Schleifer Center and Independent Northwest invite the public to join us for a workshop designed for all people within the disability community who want to learn how to register to vote and explore voting options. Family, friends and agencies are also welcome!

Highlights include:
• A live demonstration on how to register to vote.
• Why voting is important.
• What to expect when voting?
• What are my options for voting?
• What are my voting rights as a person with a disability?
