We are delighted to announce an upcoming  exhibit, Yale Center for British Art (YCBA) and the Neurodiverse: Communities in Dialogue,” opening on Sunday, May 1st.

This exhibit at YCBA is curated by our CHSC adults as part of our nationally-recognized collaboration with the Yale Center for British Art called the Out to Art Program. Our students, led by CHSC Art Director Tina Menchetti, have worked over the years with docents, studied the museum’s amazing collections, created their own works of art, and practiced museum etiquette, social communication skills, and sustained attention in galleries.

We are so proud to show off this amazing exhibit of British classic paintings curated by our students in Out to Art from the Yale museum’s renowned collection. You also will have the chance to view a video made specifically for our celebrated partnership! Chapel Haven Schleifer Center offers a rich curriculum grounded in the visual and performing arts. From teaching and learning to arts appreciation and celebration, we value the creative potential of every adult enrolled in our program and showcase their amazing talents in a variety of ways. The museum is opening its doors at 11 a.m. exclusively for our families and our artists to view the exhibit, with the museum opening to the general public at noon. The exhibit will be up for two weeks. All attendees will need to show evidence of vaccination upon entering the museum.

Congratulations to Tina and all of our amazing Out to Art participants! For more information, contact jmenchetti@chapelhaven.org
