Lifetime Supports

An increasingly popular component of the ASAT program is the supports offered to our graduating students, and to adults from outside the Chapel Haven community who can demonstrate that they already have the ability to manage an apartment in the community.

For residential students, when the support team, which includes parents, staff, other family members or outside professionals, agrees that the participant has achieved all the benchmarks for transition to independent living, a transition plan is adopted.

The ASAT Community Outreach Program provides a Community Advisor to continue instruction in life skills as needed and supports where appropriate for employment/college, recreation and leisure. Continued social communication intervention, as well as job development services, are also available to those in the ASAT Community Outreach Program. Generally, as a participant settles into community life, these services decrease.
