Sarah Davison, MS, CCC-SLP

Sarah Davison has been the Speech-Language Pathologist for the Asperger’s Syndrome Adult Transition (ASAT) program since 2011. Sarah is the primary certified teacher of the program’s social communicative competency (“SCC”) curriculum, which she provides to residential students, day students, graduates of the program and to individuals in the community in small group and individual session formats.

Sarah teaches social cognition and social communication skills within a variety of contexts to her students. Lessons and one-on-one intervention have been embedded into social recreation classes, fishing outings, during special events in the community, and at student work and volunteer sites. Sarah also teaches the SCC curriculum at Chapel Haven’s PAVE program at the Yale New Haven Hospital, where lessons and intervention are tailored for each individual at his/her respective volunteer site. Sarah also writes and presents professional development training workshops to Chapel Haven staff on a variety of topics, including social problem solving, dating and relationships, disclosure, generational communication differences in the workplace, perspective taking and theory of mind.

Sarah is a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and has achieved the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC). Sarah is also clinically trained in Social Thinking®, which is advanced training in social cognitive and social communication education and intervention developed by Michelle Garcia Winner and Pamela Crook of Social Thinking® in Santa Clara, CA.
