Ruari Clancy

Ruari Clancy – Director, Supported Living Program (SLP) Ruari Clancy brings extensive experience in leadership, program development, and disability services to his role as Director of the Supported Living Program at Chapel Haven Schleifer Center. Prior to joining Chapel Haven, Ruari spent five years with the Howard Center in Burlington, Vermont, serving more than 1,000 individuals. As Senior Program Team Lead, he supervised eight Program Managers and 20 Support Coordinators, overseeing services for 125 adults. In addition to his leadership responsibilities, he served as a trainer in implicit bias and in Therapeutic Options crisis-intervention and management techniques.
Before transitioning to the nonprofit sector, Ruari worked for seven years in public education as a Behavior Services Coordinator, supporting students with diverse behavioral and educational needs. During this time, he also coached soccer and basketball, blending his passion for mentorship, teamwork, and personal development.
Ruari holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Forensic Psychology. He is also a Certified Personal Trainer, reflecting his commitment to health, wellness, and helping others achieve their goals.
Outside of work, Ruari recently retired from an 18-year rugby career. During his collegiate playing years, he was elected team captain for two consecutive seasons—an experience that shaped his leadership philosophy and reinforced his dedication to collaboration, resilience, and service.
