Connecting Adults to Chapel Haven (CATCH)
At Chapel Haven Schleifer Center, we’ve helped hundreds of adults build independent lives since 1972. Yet across the country, many adults with developmental disabilities or autism still live at home without formal services. In fact, a 2023 study found that of 1.3 million people with autism or intellectual disabilities, the majority live with family caregivers and receive no formal support. As families age, the need for safe, supported independence becomes more urgent.
A welcoming, one-year residential program designed for mid-life and older adults who are ready to explore independent living.
CATCH offers adults age 35+ the chance to live on our campus, build life skills, and experience our vibrant community. With staff support and personalized guidance, participants learn how to manage daily routines, make friends, explore vocational interests, and navigate life with confidence.
After the one-year stay, individuals can transition into one of Chapel Haven’s lifelong residential options, including our Supported Living or SAIL programs.
