Maurice Morrison, Work-Based Learning Specialist
Maurice began his culinary career in 2006. During his initial years of cooking, he worked at companies such as Abel Catering, and it was here that his passion for food began to grow. He began to explore the food service industry working at various kitchens around the New Haven area, such has Barcelona Wine Bar, Elis on Whitney, Yale New Haven Hospital, and most recently, as a kitchen manager for Chart Wells Dining at Area Cooperative Educational Services (ACES) in Hamden, CT. Maurice is certified as a ServSafe Manager. He has had the unique opportunity to work closely with students of diverse abilities, teaching culinary arts and cooking skills. He has a passion and love for food and people and enjoys helping those with an interest in cooking to shine. Maurice hopes to make a difference with each student in CareerAbility’s work-based learning programs and to make an overall difference in the lives of those within the Chapel Haven family.
