For the third consecutive year, Chapel Haven Schleifer Center has teamed up with WTNH News Channel 8 to sponsor the GR 8 Holiday toy drive.

Working together, and as the official event sponsor, Chapel Haven helped contribute to a successful drive, culminating in 3,500 toys collected, along with bicycles and cash at the toy drive, Dec. 7 at North Haven High School. Members of the News 8 team were on hand as the community dropped off new, unwrapped toys and cash. The toys are distributed through the U.S. Marines and the Toys for Tots Foundation to area children in need.

Catherine Sullivan-DeCarlo, Vice President of Admissions and Marketing, said a group of dedicated CHSC “elves” helped fill the Toys for Tots bins at CHSC, resulting in a huge contribution to the toy stash.

Thanks to the staff who “manned” the bins, including Nery Aldana, Bradley Bopp, Jen Schiavo, Kenyatta Simms, Colleen McGuinness, Tina Menchetti, Gabriella Rodriguez and Margaret Kelley-Watson.

“We are happy to give back in this season of giving,” she said.
