John is a graduate of Chapel Haven’s REACH program who lives in his own apartment now and still receives services with Chapel Haven. Along with working at IKEA, John pursues his art and is also training to be a voice-over actor.

His first shoe piece — Vincent Van Gogh’s “Starry Night,” was painted on a pair of Tom’s brand canvas shoes for his support coordinator, Amanda Altieri, who was going to Amsterdam and wanted a custom pair of shoes when visiting the Vincent Van Gogh Museum. She got many compliments and the shoe orders have been taking off ever since!

Anyone who wants to order a pair of John Murphy originals can contact Altieri at aaltieri@chapelhaven.org. Customers provide the shoes and Murphy will paint them for $50.

Congrats, John, we are so proud of you!
