The tournament is an annual tradition started in 2014 by CHSC parent and board member Peggy Baker (shown in photo with son, Matt), an accomplished golfer who wanted to share her love of the sport and increase awareness about CHSC and our life-changing mission.

Peggy called the tournament “one of the most rewarding events I have ever been involved with. The steering ommittee we have is just the best.  Everyone is so willing to help. When we started this tournament none of us knew what we were doing. It is now one of the best golf events in town! I have heard this from many golfers.  Thank you so much, everyone.”

This year, the tournament co-chairs are Linda Peck and Terry Ruddy, both parents and golf enthusiasts who lead an enthusiastic steering committee. The group spends the year planning a first-rate tournament. Tournament proceeds have funded a range of projects in support of CHSC, including purchase of vans used for employment and and new technology to improve campus safety.

Linda said the experience has been amazing, both as a golfer and now as co-chair of the event. “I have enthusiastically attended this golf tournament since its inception. My husband, friends and I look forward to it annually. What I like best about it is interfacing with many Chapel Haven residents who volunteer that day. They are proud to represent their community and they work hard to make sure our golfers enjoy this event. My friends travel from afar for the same reasons. The event is infectious with ‘positive vibes!’ ”
