“We are excited after the success of our tournament last year,” said golf co-chair Staunton Peck. “We had 147 golfers and a spirited cadre of volunteers. Our tournament is truly a team effort!”

The tournament proved to be a great fundraiser, grossing $175,000, including $50,000 for the online auction. After expenses, the tournament’s net proceeds stood at $125,000. All funds will be devoted to program enhancements and campus projects. The day drew a cadre of volunteers, including 25 CHSC adults and eight staff.

The event includes registration and breakfast at 9 a.m. Golfers have the chance to browse an amazing array of door prizes before heading out for a Shot-Gun Start at 11 a.m. Lunch is served on the course and the golfers return to a cocktail hour and full, buffet-style dinner that includes golf awards and dessert. The event also includes a silent auction.

Last year’s tournament was a sellout!

About the CHSC Golf Tournament

The tournament, founded in 2014, is volunteer-run by an enthusiastic steering committee and is a fun day for both participants as well as CHSC community members. The event was founded by CHSC Parent and Board Chair Peggy Baker.

Proceeds over the years have funded a range of campus projects, including technology and security upgrades, new vans and job assistance for CHSC adults.  We are grateful to our golfers who return faithfully and enthusiastically each year to support our life-changing mission.

About the Farms:

The Farms Country Club was founded in 1962 and was originally a working farm, but the founders saw the beauty of the land and the opportunity to create a special place for families to gather and enjoy each other’s company.

Construction of the 18-hole golf course and clubhouse began in June 1961, and the club was officially opened on July 4, 1962. In the years since, The Farms has grown and evolved, but its commitment to family and excellence has never wavered.
